Newborn baby Girl photographer

This has been a great start of a new year. After a much appreciated break away from work life to celebrate Christmas and the New Year, it has been wonderful to get back into a steady routine. That being said, last week we had a dump of snow that disrupted everyone’s lives for a few days. My daughters were rather happy they got to stay home from school due to the road conditions. We shoveled the driveway only for the snow to be completely gone two days later as if it never happened. Now we are back to the typical Vancouver-area rainy weather we’re so well known for.

The first week of the New Year I booked a baby girl and her parents in for a newborn session. You can tell by the images that this was a baby to very relaxed parents. Can you believe it’s their first child? She slept soundly throughout the shoot and I was able to capture many delicate shots.

Since this newborn session was over two hours and the baby was so calm I was able to utilize several props, wraps and backdrops. With a focus on simple elegance, we started the shoot with some white lace in a natural basket. Then moving on to white furs and cream knit blankets in a cozy nest. Even getting to use the pink chair and outfit on the white floorboards. One of the most popular was some shots with dusty cranberry blanket and lavender knit hat that complimented each other so well against her skin tone.

It’s not very often you will have a baby who co-operates so well with different poses and re-wrapping different ways. To other newborn photographers, make good use of your shots when you get such a good baby. The parents were so pleased with the end results that they ordered all the images we took. After all, these are memories are worth a lifetime!

Of course there is the messy side of newborn photography… Let’s just say she left us with a lot of laundry today! It is always worth it when you get so many wonderful photos.
